Tomas Moniz

Tomas Moniz’s debut novel, Big Familia, was a finalist for a 2020 PEN/Hemingway Award, a 2020 Lambda Literary Award, and a 2019 Foreword Indies Book of the Year Award. He edited the popular Rad Dad and Rad Families anthologies. He was the recipient of the SF Literary Arts Foundation’s Award, was an affiliate artist for Headlands Center for the Arts from 2020 to 2022, and is a 2023 Lucas Artists Residency Program Fellow. He currently teaches at Berkeley City College and Antioch University’s MFA program. He lives in Oakland California and frequents local parks with his grandchild.
