Elaine Yellow Horse lives on Pine Ridge Reservation, working at a major Indigenous justice nonprofit backed by everyone from Leo DiCaprio and Kevin Costner to Sheilene Woodley and Greta Thunberg. Together with her wife, a Boston-born teacher-turned-lawyer currently suing the U.S. government on behalf of the Lakota nation, she is raising the Eighth Generation.
